September 2024 Reading Recap

This September, I continued working my way through James Baldwin’s oeuvre in honor of his 100th birthday last month. I also got a jump on spooky season with three thrillers: Truman Capote’s classic, In Cold Blood (1965), Disha Bose’s Dirty Laundry (2023), and Ira Levin’s Rosemary’s Baby (1967), which I had the pleasure of reading in community with African American speculative fiction author, Marc Abbott, as part of a Center for Fiction reading group, Horror in New York City.

Also in September, I met my 2024 reading goal of 100 books and, with 104 books read year-to-date, surpassed 100 for the fourth consecutive year; a continued sign that maybe my social life is not as robust as it could be! 😂 There’s always 2025, I guess!
