25% of 2025 in the books! I am failing (again) at my “read less get out more” goal to keep it under 100 books for the year, but there are so many good books in so many genres, I can’t help it! So far US & World History (23%), Literary & Popular Fiction (20%), Poetry/Hybrid (17%) and Literary & Cultural Criticism (10%) have dominated and, quite honestly, it will probably stay that way for the remainder of year. I’m for sure open to “must reads” in other genres! In fact, Sayaka Murata’s Convenience Store Woman was one of those recommendations from someone with whom I found myself discussing my favorite book of 2024, Percival Everett’s James. We both loved it so much, though for him it was second to Murata’s book. He was right, it did not disappoint!
