Platform at a glance
More than 30,000 listeners, viewers, and readers interact with me and my work every week.
Additions to the Archive with Sullivan Summer (posting 2-4 episodes per month): Hosted on the New Books Network, the largest books podcast network in the world, I garner 3,000-5,000 downloads per episode, placing my podcast within the top 5% of all podcasts globally.
Substack (posting 1-3 Q&A interviews per month): I maintain a free-by-design Substack where I speak with authors about passion projects, side hustles, and other areas of interest outside of their current book. I have 250 followers on this platform, with 80 receiving content direct to their email inbox.
Adoption Pop! podcast (posting 4-5 episodes per month): I am the Co-Creator/Producer/Host and Writer of the Adoption Pop! podcast, which examines adoption tropes in popular media. The show is in the top 25% of all podcasts globally, with downloads in 25 countries, accessible via Apple Podcasts and Spotify, as well as on YouTube.
Adoptees Off Script podcast (posting 1 episode per month): I am a Co-Host with Adoptees Off Script, a paywalled podcast affiliated with Adoptees On (1.5 million total downloads), where I engage in adoption-related cultural conversations.
Social Media: My work and I reach more than 30,000 followers across various Instagram, YouTube, and Substack personal and professional accounts.
Interviews and Criticism: Authors pour their hearts and souls into their books. My aim is to treat them and their work with that same reverence and care in my interviews and criticism, including reading cover-to-cover the current work of every author I interview.
I am passionate about books for, by, and about Black people, in which history plays an important part. This includes academic texts, narrative nonfiction, biography, criticism, essays, historical fiction, and poetry. I do not cover memoir or authors’ family stories (absent crossover with one or more of the genres above). While I write and interview for a variety of outlets, you can find a representative sample of the books I gravitate towards at my podcast, Additions to the Archive with Sullivan Summer.
I respond to all inquiries within 72 hours. I typically work on an 8 to 10-week lead time, but am happy to work with you to align to a publicity schedule beyond 10 weeks.
Sensitivity Reads: I am also available to serve as a sensitivity reader for manuscripts featuring adoptee characters, or those in which adoption is a central theme, but do not otherwise engage with non-adoptee authors (via interview or book review) writing about adoption.
Thank you for trusting me with your work.
